Strategic Accounts Manager (6817)

The Role
At Cromwell, we are committed to being easy to deal with for our customers. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a high performing team, delivering sustainable and profitable sales growth through development and execution of a National Accounts Sales strategy, which is aligned to the wider Cromwell Business Strategy. You’ll do this by effectively embedding all elements of our Customer Value Proposition with a select portfolio of customers.
You will work closely and in collaboration with all departments in the business, to ensure your customers receive industry leading service, to cement long term strategic partnerships with our largest National accounts.
What will you do on a normal day?
Team
- Lead, coach, and develop a high performing team to deliver the national accounts sales strategy and company goals.
- Positively and effectively lead change within the team, modelling our principles and collaborating with key internal & external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure the customer is at the heart of everything we do.
- Achieve sales, margin and profitability targets for your assigned portfolio of customers.
- Create a clear sales strategy for your team to help them deliver on agreed targets.
- Ensure The Cromwell Way is embedded in your team and maintain Salesforce compliance.
Customer
- Maintain and develop robust account plans with your team, with a focus on developing long term strategic relationships, category expansion opportunities and revenue growth.
- P&L performance of all customers in your portfolio.
- Facilitate Quarterly Business Reviews with all customers.
- Work closely with your team and category management to identify opportunities to grow our Exclusive brand offering.
- Negotiate commercial terms for new and existing contracts, with the support of our legal team.
- Work closely with key strategic suppliers to maximise value for all parties.
- Build lasting and effective business relationships with key customer stakeholders.
- Manage cost avoidance and reduction activities for your customers, through product and process innovation.
- Hold all parties to account, to ensure customer contract terms are adhered to.
- Maintain strong and effective relationships with Operational teams to ensure they are aligned with our customer activities and requirements.
- Have a keen understanding of the marketplace and our key competitors.
What are we looking for?
- Educated to degree level, or with equivalent role specific experience.
- Experience of managing a team of sales professionals.
- Strong analytical skills to ensure we use data to drive decisions.
- Industry experience is desirable but not essential.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively articulate our Customer Value Proposition.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Can-do attitude with good time management skills and ability to work to deadlines.
- Willing to embrace curiosity and be prepared to try new things.
- Ambition and desire to seek out personal growth opportunities.
- Confident, clear & concise in communicating your ideas.
- Understand the importance of driving brilliant customer experiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a large team with multiple stakeholders.
- Work well with others and win as one team!
- Full UK Driving License (essential) as the role holder expected to drive as part of their role.
